Released on November 5th, 'Classic' builds on the momentum of his previous EP 'Disco Nights' while pushing his sonic palette even further. Having spent the past year refining his production and live instrumentation, Jafunk delivers a polished, feel good body of work that pays homage to the golden era of funk and disco, while injecting it with fresh energy for today's dance floors.
With lush arrangements, crisp rhythm sections, and undeniable funk, 'Classic' sees Jafunk collaborating once again with a stellar cast of vocalists and session musicians including Devin Tracy, Haile Supreme, Stefan Mahendra, Dan Caplen and Triple H Horns. Expect more infectious hooks, world-class musicianship, and a deep respect for the analog warmth of classic records, all glued together with Jafunk’s unmistakable funky touch.
Jafunk, the music producer, multi instrumentalist and DJ from Australia now based in Portugal is known for his funky & soulful music. He has released a host of original music with over 100M lifetime streams, and has garnered international radio play on stations such as BBC Radio 1 UK, Radio FG France and Triple J Australia. His talent has been recognised by a number of prominent artists including Questlove, Tom Misch and Hayden James, and has collaborated with the likes of Snakehips, Young Franco, Cosmos Midnight, Adi Oasis, Mark Knight, Kraak & Smaak and many more.
Jafunk has performed numerous international shows in countries including the UK, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Germany, France, Australia, Portugal, Finland, Estonia, and more. In 2023 and early 2024 he has performed in London, Paris, Berlin, Lisbon, Helsinki, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide, as well as his debut tour in Indonesia.
He is also known for his sample packs on Splice 'Future Funk & Soul’ and ‘Disco Gems’, which have received over 1.5M individual downloads.
